Winter Snowdown - Saturday afternoon January 14th
Ok I'm going to pick the date, since that's how things seem to happen in this house.
Jan 14 2006 is what I suggest for the next Chateau Nice party. Theme: winter. Any objections? Over Voula's howling objections, let's call it the Winter Snowdown (like Hoedown, get it?). As a compromise, Voula is allowed to design the program fully and invite any and all musical guests.
Whether it's skating or tobagganing, you can expect a full Chateau Nice brunch with all the fixings, alchohol aplenty and the luscious titillating cleavage of your truly. To 'key staff' - you know who you are - please report early in the New Year to receive your orders, t-shirts and party kits.
Now sit back and watch the social apparatus unfold!

Do we have to do brunch and everything? I just wanna go throw myself down a hill.
And if it was my idea, how is it a compromise to let me design the program?
I need a nap.
After four weeks in Asia, a peek at some hairy cleavage will be quite the treat!
cleavage?! Yummy!
BTW, I want to book your appearance at Aidan-a-palooza 2006 in advance. So keep May 6th open!
deets to come around February.
this is only meant as an initial dialogue, ie deliberately provoke Voula and goad her into action ;-). but I do think Jan 14 is a good date: the week before is too soon, and if we wait till the week after we'll lose our nerve.
I only recommend brunch b/c it is a chateau nice trademark. anyone can fall down a hill or slide on ice, but it takes a chateau to do it gourmet. we have a brand image to protect.
and Ming - you mean in Asia there's not much cleavage, or there's not much hair?
as for Aidan-a-palooza, I think 'Aidanfest' of 'The Aidan Benefit Concert' is more easy on the tongue, but that's beyond my nomenclatural jurisdiction. I will book it off.
ok I will cease this pontificating and look forward to the initial committe meetings
A committee. Good suggestion. I think it may take a group of people to reign you in.... =)
About the sliding down hills. Can we please just keep it as that? That's not to say that we can't inject gourmet sensibilities, however I'd like to relive my glorious youth if only for a day and to add a brie omlette into the mix would make it ever so grown up.
As far as the date goes, Jan. 14 sounds good, but I think we should really let the weather be the determining factor. If the hills are green and hard, no amount of alcohol will cushion that fall.
you can do whatever you like. but you can't be surprised that I suggest a brunch. posting an announcement on this web site brings with it certain expectations of an excessive and overindulgent feast. the word 'brunch' is even in the title bar. I'm just fulfilling my duties as a chateau-style organizer. but if my services are not wanted, I understand. :)
Hear Hear!
Aidan has already announced with enthusiasm that this will be a Chateau event he won't miss.
BTW, Aidan-a-palooza (as it was named last year) is quickly shaping up into quite the festival.
Jan.14 = boooooo.
I will be in Thunder Bay that weekend, visiting ye olde (literally) grandparents(e).
But I have a kick-ass crazy carpet (krazy karpet?) if anyone needs a loaner.
xo's
